Here is a little game demo I wrote up using the Torque Game Builder. It uses artwork from the tutorial, but with a couple hour's worth of modifications, I was able to build this. On to bigger and better things with the TGB!!

What we're playing:
We have been playing Dawn of War with the winter assault expansion of late, it is a cool game with a fresh perspective from the world of warhammer 40k. It is a new spin on the standard RTS style of game by introducing the concept of control points on the map and centering the game around combat rather than resource management.

Some of us are still heavily into world of warcraft. I'm thinking about it, but it just takes too much time.

Supreme Commander has been announced!! There is also a collection of articles over on gamespy about it. This game is the 'spiritual successor' to Total Annihilation, made by Chris Taylor.

I have taken down the webboard once again, due to security violations. It seems that the software used for that phpbb is not very secure, and to avoid the headache of having to manage it, I'd just as soon take it down, people use the yahoo group much more anyway.

I Took down the web board because of a glut of spam, also I removed the applet from the main page for faster loading times. Hopefully more use will come of this. On another note, Cosmic Encounter, Puerto Rico and Starfarers of Catan have been occupying our time of late.

Well, Master of Orion 3 finally came out (a month or two ago as of this posting), apparently with a whole lot of features cut out. I was quite disappointed with this seemingly unfinished game. It's still a little bit addictive, but not even close to what it COULD have been. I don't really want to write a review yet, since I don't think I'll have much nice to say about it. I'll wait until they come out with a couple of patches. I saw the first data patch came out a couple of days ago.

Also, some people have emailed us saying they enjoyed the "rifts rules modifications" doc that we have posted in our games section. Thanks! This gives us motivation to keep on putting stuff like that up and developing this site.

The new web board is up, not as nice as the other one, but maybe better once I learn all the features. Some of the changes that you may have noticed are due to my hosting provider changing their admin tools (and provider), please let me (webmaster) know if you notice anything amiss.

Also, Master of Orion 3 STILL is not out, so no reviews yet, but in the meantime, you may see some on C&C generals, since it looks sooo cool...

I've been thinking about changing our title banner. People have mentioned (a long time ago) that it looks cartoony. Any suggestions? any takers? I was looking for fonts on fontfreak.com, some pretty cool freeware fonts there. Let me know if you have any suggestions, send them to the webmaster

PS - I put some possible logo options here. We also need a good slogan, as you can see, let me know if you think of anything cool...

I know I've neglected cybergoon for a long time, and I know it needs a lot of updating, but I've been busy with work for the past year or so. Hopefully now, I should have more time (no promises yet though), I'm going to start off by trying to organize more gaming sessions (especially with the upcoming release of tribes 2 and halo).

In an effort to make our gaming process easier, I'm going to try to compose a list of games that people like. Please send an email to mightyzog@cybergoon.com listing the following:

• your top three first person games
• your top three RTS game
• your top three other multiplayer games that you think we should try.
